I often get asked why I’m specializing in Boudoir portraits. There was a time before I switched to Boudoir that I was considering giving up photography all together. I didn’t feel that I was living my purpose in life. I felt as though I should be helping others in some way and really felt like I was failing on that. I was added to a Boudoir Photography group by a photog friend and I instantly knew that was where I was meant to be. I read post after post of screenshots and testimonials from their clients thanking them for empowering them and giving them back the confidence they had lost. I was ecstatic to finally feel like I had found my calling.
I enjoy getting to know my clients and hearing their stories. It’s indescribable getting to see women transform in front of my camera.I love the relationships and friendships formed not just with us but within our Facebook group. I know without a doubt this group will rally around one of us in need.
I want to help bring healing into my clients lives. I want them to take the power back that they have given to whom or what ever it is that paralyzes them in life. I want them to know that they are ENOUGH and deserve everything they dream of. We are making a difference in women’s lives by empowering them and we don’t take that lightly.
My favorite part of the process has to be when my clients see their images for the first time. It’s filled with happy tears, complete disbelief, screams, laughs and hugs. And this is all over images that have never been edited. Yeah, you read that right. The first time you see your images they are completely UNEDITED! Sounds scary right? I promise you it is the most liberating part of the entire experience. You know without a doubt that is you and not some crazy photoshop skills that I have. It’s the beauty that others see in you that you can finally see too. That moment is my why.
Boudoir photography is a celebration or your body, just as it is at this very moment. The scars, stretch marks and extra weight all tell a story of your life’s challenges, struggles and victories. Let’s embrace them and celebrate them rather than hide them in shame. BE THE LIGHT. Let others see your confidence and spark theirs. What we do here is contagious, are you feeling like you caught the fever?
